The 2006 ShortDocs were selected from the dozens of stories from around the world that were submitted for our 99 Ways to Tell a Radio Story experiment. The four works that were chosen all follow the guidelines of the project: they begin with some manifestation of the notion, "To begin with, they never got along;" they include a pre-recorded voice, rhythmic noise and exclamation; and they run exactly 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

These ShortDocs were premiered publicly in Chicago in September, 2006 at a Listening Room event, and were presented by the producers themselves at the 2006 Third Coast Festival Conference. Here they are, listed alphabetically by producer:
